Celebrating the All Blacks

Today room 1 had a shared lunch. We had lots of chips, two cakes, and biscuits. I enjoyed being at school today. I liked it because I had lots of fun. We played lots of games to celebrate it. Everyone had fun today. Everyone has been wearing black for the All Blacks because they won and that is why we were celebrating. My country was South Africa. I think they are good at rugby. I think all of them are good.

Party For The All Blacks

Today we had a party for the All Blacks because they won the rugby world cup. For our party food we had chocolate fingers, popcorn and biscuits.We wore  black clothes and had a photo taken with flags in the background. I had lots of fun. Some people were dancing without music. It was great celebrating the All Blacks winning the Rugby World Cup.

Collage

On Monday we made a collage and it was fun.We have done our intials and now we are all on our second one. Today we did jump jam and collage and we took photos of our collage animals.

Week Reflection

What: today we did handwriting and we did all the numbers to 9. Yesterday and today we did three sentences in writing.

So what: Today I learnt how to do collage pictures.

Now what: I need to keep my desk tidy.

Hot Air Balloons

Room 1 made hot air balloons. First we had to draw the hot air balloon. Next we had to choose 1 coloured pastel at a time and colour it in. Then we were done. We took photos of each other to put in our balloons and we looked like we are flying.

NATHANS JUMP JAM

IN ROOM 1 ONE WE HAVE BEEN DOING JUMP JAM. JUMP JAM IS AN EXERCISE PROGRAMME THAT WE WATCH USING A DATA PROJECTOR. WE HAVE BEEN DOING SIX SONGS. WE DO JUMP JAM WITH ROOM 2 AND ROOM 15. JUMP JAM IS A FUN PART OF THE DAY. I THINK WE SHOULD DO OTHER JUMP JAMS WHEN WE GET GOOD AT THEM.

Our Race Car Track

We had to cut out the cars and put them on Mrs Steedman's desk and then she took photos of us. Then we painted it black and then we put our cars on it. We have to try to get over the winning line by trying hard at school and using our Habits of Mind.

TERM 3 WELCOME BACK

Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a great holiday and enjoyed yourselves. This term we have lots of exciting things happening. We have the Life Education Trust coming to school and we will be learning about 'Food for Energy'. We also will be visiting the Boys and Girls Gym club later in the term. In physical education we are continuing with Jump Jam and also running as our cross country is looming.
In art we are going to use clay, I wonder what things we could make?
We are also focusing on Managing Self as our key competency and our two Habits of Mind focuses this term are Creating, Imagining and Innovating and Responding with Wonderment and Awe. Phew! We are all going to be very busy room one races!

Our Habit of Mind Collage Creations

When we were doing collage for art we looked at our Habits of Mind poem book and used some of the ideas we saw. Some people finished their scary collage picture. They look really great.

Our Garden

Room one have a garden. We pulled out the carrot out of the garden in front of room15's class. we washed it and we cut the carrot and ate it. it was very nice to eat and hope that we might have another yummy carrot grow. we have to look after our garden and decide what we want to grow in it.

Yesterday I did some writing. I did it about some bees and I did Lexea for 15 minutes. Then I did my collage and it was fun. We did some pastel work and we used pastels for the balloons as well. It took a long time. Then I did a scribble picture.

Room 1 have  done collage pictures for our wall and we had to use glue and paper to stick on our collage.  Mrs  steadman thinks they are awesome and room one have done a good job.

we have a  race track we have leaner driver aprentis driver and chapins. I am a aprentis driver i am trying to manag my inpulsiviti on my work. We have maths reading spelling and writing  and spelling and reading and i  try to do my best i am in pen linces i am a good writter i am happy that i am in pen licens.

Ciaran's Reflection

What: Today we did some art and we did some writing. I did a snake in collage and we did a tally chart.

So what: I learnt how to keep my desk clean.

Now What: My goal is to keep my writing neat.

Room1 Art

We have done two collage pictures. They are really cool. We made the first letter of our name and animals with coloured paper and glue and scissors. I used purple and orange for the animal. For the names we had to practise the first letter of our names. Once we finished practicing we had to use a big piece. We used magazines to find the colours.

Animal Collage

We have been doing animal collages. First we had to practice drawing our animals in our art book and then we had to draw our best animal again on an A4 piece of paper. We had to choose a variety of different coloured pieces of paper and cut them up and stick them on the piece of paper. Then we were done.

Aranui Theatre Company came to school. It was a good show. It was funny but weird.

Animal Collage

We are doing animal collages. I like it because it is fun. Collage is fun because we use different colours. I am doing a fish in the sea. My fish is rainbow coloured. When we are finished you can make a different collage of your choice.

Art in Room One

Today we did a collage. It was an animal. I wanted to draw an alligator. We had to rip pieces of paper  and we glued them on to our piece of paper.  We also did hot air balloons and we had to use pastel. When we were finished it looked cool and awesome. We put them on our windows.

We have to strive for accuracy and we have to work quietly. We have to get our letters right. If we get three stamps we have done really neat writing. We have to try get Hi Five cards.

Our Racing Track

The track is big and the cars look amazing. They were having a race and the pink car was zooooming past all the other cars and trying to pass the finish line. It is a challenge and if you win you get the gold prize.
